Ski season on hold in the Dolomites

The Dolomites famous ski slopes stay closed for the moment due to the ongoing pandemic. This is a huge blow for the locals and the ski community that make their way up to this fantastic region in Italy around this time of year for the opening of the season.
A couple of years ago, we travelled to this part of Europe to document the last preperations before the gates and lifts were finally unlocked for the skiers and snowboarders. It’s strange to see that an idea of a ghost town, were evreything looks so immaculate and ready to go, can suddenly become reality…
I hope this won’t go on for too long, especially for the local community. Stay patient and strong until it’s all safe again to enjoy it!🙏🏻
